Shelley developed an interest in language-learning, linguistic concepts and learning disabilities at Vassar College and completed a Masters Degree in Linguistics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1997. In 2005, after working throughout Boulder County as a language instructor for Adults and Children, she completed three Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes Instructor trainings for the LiPS, Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs. She has since incorporated a variety of research-based techniques as a Language Instructor, Reading Instructor and Learning Disabilities Teacher in part-time as well as full-time clinical settings. Her professional approach is to assess client needs based on accurate data and then provide customized training based on a student’s specific needs. Her goal is to provide this training in the most effective, efficient and enjoyable manner possible. She has lived abroad in Italy and Sweden and currently lives outside Longmont, Colorado with her husband, Patrick, two children, Ryan, 12 and Malia, 9.
