Dyslexia Reading Intensives

ABOUT LEARNING PATHWAYS
Since 2006, we have empowered students with the skills and learning resources they need to achieve academic success. I know firsthand how frightening and confusing it is when your child is diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia because I went through it with my son. I knew something was amiss when he struggled to read and continued to struggle. The school kept telling me he'd "be a spontaneous reader" or he'd "just one day start reading all at once." Well, that's not at all how it works. We have to be taught how to read, and when you have dyslexia, you have to be taught in a very specific way. Once he got targeted intervention, he took off as most kids do.

We take the scary out and craft a personalized program to build a strong foundation in a warm, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Our talented and professional team provides tutoring services using only evidence-based methods including Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell, which are both proven to remediate and support students who are struggling with reading, writing, and math. We provide services in our learning center one-on-one or connect remotely via Zoom--whichever is most convenient for your child and suits your needs. We get great results regardless of where we meet. Give us a call. I'm always happy to help in any way--even it's just moral support!

Meet The Team

I'm Deborah Kratovil, dedicated owner and instructor. I understand the unique challenges that come with teaching, especially as a parent of a child with dyslexia.
I started Learning Pathways over 20 years ago with one purpose: to ensure that students who struggle with reading and writing—whether due to dyslexia, dysgraphia, or simply feeling left behind—receive the support they need to thrive.

This work is deeply personal to me. As both a provider and a parent, I understand firsthand the frustration, worry, and heartbreak that can come when a child struggles in school. Watching my own son struggle motivated me to search for answers at a time when quality services were difficult to find. That journey led me to extensive training in multisensory, structured literacy instruction and ultimately to the creation of Learning Pathways.

I am trained in Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell methodologies and remain deeply committed to helping every student reach their potential in a warm, supportive environment where learning feels engaging, encouraging, and successful.

Nothing is more rewarding to me than seeing a student arrive discouraged and below grade level, then gradually gain confidence, light that spark of curiosity, and begin to believe in themselves as learners. Teaching children to read is truly my passion, and after all these years, I still love what I do every single day.

Outside of Learning Pathways, I enjoy traveling, running, baking, skiing, hiking, and gardening.

Kim Reeves is an educator at heart, driven by her passion for teaching and a genuine love for witnessing the growth of her students.
I have been an educator for over 22 years and have worked with students at many different levels, from preschool through high school, including coaching high school volleyball. Most recently, I spent several years as a primary classroom teacher before deciding at the end of the 2018 school year that I wanted to continue teaching in a more individualized and impactful way. That journey led me to Learning Pathways.

Literacy instruction has always been both my passion and my greatest strength as an educator. There is nothing more rewarding than watching students grow in their reading skills and begin to gain confidence in themselves as learners. I especially love the moment when students start to understand the patterns and rules behind reading and writing—the “lightbulb moments” that lead to real progress and excitement about learning.

What I value most about Learning Pathways is the opportunity to work one-on-one with students using a highly personalized approach that combines Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell methodologies. This individualized instruction allows us to truly meet students where they are and help them make meaningful progress.

I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in each child’s life and look forward to continuing this rewarding chapter in my teaching career.
